Christoph Schönfelder is also committed to supporting young talent: in February 2025, he will join Prof. Thomas Lennartz, Konstantin Reymeier, Monica Melcova and Claus Fischer as a jury member for the Leipzig University of Music and Theatre's organ improvisation competition.

FINAL CONCERT OF THE INTERNATIONAL CATHEDRAL ORGAN CONCERTS IN ST. GALLEN
To mark the 274th anniversary of Johann Sebastian Bach's death, cathedral organist Christoph Schönfelder will present works by Bach on the choir organ in the cathedral in St. Gallen on July 28, 2024 at 5:30 pm, along with works by Olivier Messiaen and Jean Guillou on the main organ.

Passion concert «Le chemin de la croix» at St. Gallen Cathedral
Marcel Dupré's haunting composition " Le chemin de la croix " from 1932, which describes the 14 stations of the cross of Jesus' Passion, will be performed at this year's Passion Concert on 10 March 2024 at 16.30 at St. Gallen Cathedral. Cathedral organist Christoph Schönfelder will interpret this very demanding and highly complex organ work, while cathedral priest Beat Grögli will read the complex texts – which he revised himself - by the French writer Paul Claudel, who described the 14 stations of Christ's Passion in poetic form.

The succession of the retiring St. Gallen Cathedral organist Willibald Guggenmos has been settled. The 30-year-old Christoph Schönfelder from Munich will follow in his footsteps as of August 1, 2023. The newly elected cathedral organist Christoph Schönfelder convinced the search committee not only musically because of his technical and artistic abilities and talent for improvisation, but also because of his theological and liturgical knowledge and as a person.

"Prière" for Viola/Englishhorn and Organ by Harald Feller
Together with Florin Paul, principal violinist of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester Hamburg and Paganini prizewinner, Christoph Schönfelder recorded the composition "Prière" for viola/English horn and organ byHarald Feller, published in 2021.
